Biography

Steve is an experienced, caring and dedicated financial adviser. He is committed to clearly understanding you and your family’s financial and lifestyle goals. Drawing on his wealth of expertise and financial knowledge and working alongside your other trusted advisers (accountant, solicitor, mortgage broker), he will develop and implement a financial plan to assist you to achieve your objectives. Steve’s relationship with you is long term as you will have regular reviews which will provide the focus and discipline to ensure you stay on track.

Steve’s clients – people in their 30’s and 40’s along with pre-retirees – are in capable hands. A highly qualified professional, he brings a depth of experience to his role at Stratus Financial Group, where he has been a financial adviser since 2006.

A Queenslander, Steve was raised on a sheep property near Millmerran, with his early career starting in rural management. Following the completion of his bachelor degree and post graduate study, Steve joined the Australian Bureau of Agricultural Economics in Canberra.

From this role he transitioned to the corporate banking sector. Firstly, as a Rural Economist with NAB, based in Melbourne then on transferring to Brisbane, he took up the role of Financial Risk Manager. The latter providing a direct pathway into financial planning. However, as you would expect, Steve continues to maintain a keen interest in agriculture and the issues facing that sector.

Steve’s clients value his holistic and long term approach to financial planning and his commitment to developing a tailored solution to suit their situation (as you will read in Steve’s testimonials). They appreciate the time he takes to understand their goals, his empathy and caring nature and his ability to work seamlessly with other trusted advisers in their financial life. Steve’s clients are clients for life.

Steve is qualified to deliver advice across a range of financial strategies that include investments, insurance, superannuation, income and asset protection. Steve’s clients see him as their financial coordinator, drawing together all aspects of their financial life. To achieve this outcome, Steve works closely with a range of professionals – accountants, solicitors, mortgage brokers and insurance advisers – to create a seamless and fully integrated financial solution.

This breadth of experience has enabled Steve to make one telling observation about people’s financial situations in general. Steve understands people are time poor and while most people understand the need to take control of their financial life, other daily commitments are often the cause of its neglect. Steve provides the focus and discipline needed to maintain financial control using the full extent of his skills, knowledge and experience he implements strategies designed to deliver the best possible outcome for clients – always.

Steve is supported by a team providing excellent customer service and supporting the development of the long term relationships with clients.
