Supporting our community

Supporting Our Community

The team at Stratus Financial Group continue to support our wider community both here and overseas through the Fortnum Foundation. The mission of the Fortnum Foundation is to raise money for children in need by fostering their wellbeing, and providing education and protection for children in Australia and overseas.

The Stratus Financial Group team believe the personal involvement and support offered to children in need is compatible with Stratus’ overall philosophy and values.

Brett, Ross, Steve and James agree it is inspiring to work with a team of like-minded people who make such a valuable contribution not only at work but in our wider community. They recognise how fortunate they are to be able to support young people through their chosen charities.

Stratus Financial Group was an inaugural member of the Fortnum Foundation 1000 Club, where donations of $1,000 are matched by the Fortnum Foundation.

We support Love MercyMusic Industry College, Aunties and Uncles, and the Ipswich 100 Cycling Event, key charities whose focus is to enhance the physical and mental wellbeing, education and protection of children.

Love Mercy

Olympians Eloise Welling of Australia and Julius Achon of Uganda are the champions of Love Mercy.

One of the charity’s current projects is the development of the Kristina Health Centre in Northern Uganda.

The Centre has been built in an area that previously had no access to health care. Now, patients can be treated and spend the night at the Centre if necessary. The Centre is also equipped to deliver babies and has provided hundreds of thousands of free immunisation for babies.

Stratus Financial Group is helping to fund two doctors at the new Centre.

Music Industry College

At the Music Industry College in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, the Ken Wood Scholarships Fund gives disadvantaged children an incentive to complete their education by giving them a chance to develop their interest in music.

The College’s innovative program empowers young people to succeed in the music industry and in life.

Brett Cribb is a significant contributor to the Ken Wood Scholarship at the MIC.

Aunties and Uncles

Aunties and Uncles is an early intervention program that aims to empower children and families by offering mentoring relationships for vulnerable and socially isolated children aged 1 to 11.

Each child is linked with a mentor (an Aunt/Uncle) who offers time, care, stability, guidance and exposure to new experiences to help them to reach their potential and establish a happy and healthy future.

Aunties and Uncles operates in the Brisbane and Gold Coast areas and has supported 497 children since 1992.

Steve Nicholas of Stratus has been involved with Aunties and Uncles for over 15 years.
